Buying Camping Stove Tips

The vast selection of camping stoves that would not be understood by a layman, tagged with technical terms, may be scary for some who are not so experienced when it comes to camping and buying stoves. Buying the right camping stove, though, is not as hard as it may seem.

Here are some of the considerations you should consider when purchasing a camping stove. With this knowledge and easy tips, it will be much easier to pick and order.

Size

Camping brands like Coleman offer camping stoves with one, two, and multiple burner. What you should opt for should depend on how much you intend to cook. If you're packing alone, a camping stove with one or two burners may do, but if you're planning to camp with the whole family or a camping cook feast with a bunch of friends, go to a camping stove with two or more burners to save time.

Fuel type

The next thing to consider after deciding which stove size fits your camping needs is the type of fuel you'll want to use. Propane, white gas (otherwise known as Coleman petrol), unleaded gas, butane or kerosene are among your fuel options. However, use of either propane or white gas alone is mostly recommended.

For all the camping stoves the most heat is provided by those fuelled by white gas. It is the more environmentally friendly alternative because it cleanly burns without any odor or effect on the taste of food as well as generates less waste.

Many of the Coleman camping stoves fuelled with white gas operate on dual fuel system which means the stove can run on either white gas or unleaded petrol. It is best, though, that you only use white gas, unless you run out of it and can't buy any during cases.

In contrast, propane camp stoves are simpler and easier to use, but weigh much heavier than white gas. But Coleman propane camping stoves are also great choices due to their ease of operation and ignition, and good performance in warm climates and at low elevations. Many propane-fuel driven Coleman camping stoves also have electronic ignitions to save time and energy.

Camping type Activities

Another factor you should make is the sort of camping that you want to do during your journey. For instance, if you're planning to go backpacking, choose a lightweight camping stove, have a single burner for this is easier to carry in your load.

But if you're planning to go on a family camping trip, a group hike or RV camping, it's better to opt for three or four burner stoves that would allow you to build a great fiesta for all.

Now, if you're planning to go on a beach camping trip or have a backyard party where you'll probably want to do some side grilling, the best option for you is a combination of a stove and grill.
